Read another wonderful architectural definition today. It was about how architects differentiate between items and space: “A figure is an element or shape placed on a page, canvas, or other background. Ground is the space on the page”

I have heard numerous debates recently on the nature of “The Page” and what it is now. If we – as designers – expanded our collection of terms like “negative space”  we might be able to see how functional The Space can be. The Space we use move through in order to understand a hierarchy. Just like a building. Maybe we would see more usefull space, and more elegant space on our pages… or is it just me thats missing it?
